hi

i'm interested on getting a mac, and very serious about it. however, i've a concern that i need to be clear before i move ahead to mac family.

is there any OCR software that support mac, and can support features like what k1000 and openbook does?

as a university student, having a OCR software is definitely a 'must' in my consideration for Mac.

thanks

cheers

There's a program called claro read (I think I spelled it right), but I have. no. prior experience with this program and how well it works.

fine reader also works however it seems like you have to scan one page at a time and save it. Not verry effficient but could get the job done.

I have no idea what the difference is between 3000 and 1000. I've not yet used those products, and I used to use omni page.

3000 has features to help those with learning disabilities 1000 focuses more on the scanning and reading aspect.

I don't get why they have k3000 for the mac, but not k1000. If anyone knows the kurzweil people, please ask them this. It would be nice
